Loading Radio Paradise Interactive Stream hangs PiCorePlayer (v5)

$

I am not sure whether the issue I am experiencing is a LMS, a Radio Paradise Plugin or a PiCorePlayer (hosted on various Raspberry Pi's) issue so I hope the reader will forgive me initially posting in this forum.

When I try and stream (controlling via iPeng) the Radio Paradise FLAC ** Interactive ** stream (note FLAC Regular stream works fine) on one of my PiCorePlayers it seems to hang the PiCorePlayer.

The scenario is thus

Open iPeng
Select chosen PiCorePlayer (v5.0)
My Apps
Radio Paradise (Plugin version v2.4.2)
Mellow Mix
Flac Interactive
Play

What normally happens is the Radio Paradise track currently playing is displayed (along with artwork) on iPeng but NO sound is heard. After a few seconds the actual PiCorePlayer disappears as a listed player within iPeng and the only way to bring it back is to reboot the PiCorePlayer from its web interface. Similar disappearing behaviour is seen when using a separate Logitech Duet Controller in place of iPeng.

This happens individually across all four of my PiCorePlayers (all running same software version). It does NOT happen when using Squeezeplay on my Linux Mint desktop.

As far as I can ascertain the file format for both the Interactive and Regular are FLAC) so I am at a loss as to where to start troubleshooting and wonder if anyone has any suggestions ?

Configuration details below

Cheers

Any ideas how to increase the volume with a raspiaudio device?

I purchased this device for $15:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And I cannot seem to find a way with picoreplayer 5.0.0 to boost the audio output of this i2s device. This seemed like a similar post:

https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/v...c.php?t=181106

But couldn't get any of that working. I am using a Topping TP21 for output which has 25 WPC. I'm wishing I could find some way to use amixer to increase the output. I've tried all the various hifiberry pull down options for output devices in picoreplayer and only two work for me. The DAC Zero/MiniAmp and the Dac+ Light . So it's not I think that I'm setting the wrong device.

BBC iPlayer not appearing in MyApps in iPeng (IOS12)

Is anybody else having this issue? BBC iPlayer and BBC iPlayer extra have disappaered from My Apps in iPeng (vs 9.6.1) on my iPhone (currently running IOS 12.3.1). They disappeared a couple of months ago.

The BBC iPlayer "Show in My Apps" option is toggled in the LMS server Plugin and it works on the web interface when accessed by a browser.

Has anybody had this issue and know of a fix? My LMS is running on MacOS Mojave 10.14.4, LMS version is 7.9.1.

cannot open web control interface

After going back to my previous LMS computer I now cannot open the web control interface (right clicking the LMS icon in the tray, choosing the third alternative from the top). It just hangs saying: Waiting for 127.0.0.1:9000. This used to work but I've switched router since using this computer. I do have a working internet connection.

Another thing not working, is entering the mysqueezebox.com credentials in the control panel (tray, first option from top).

The server is running the latest LMS on an updated Windows 10 Intel Compute stick.

While this is a mis-configured web server, we certainly can try to be
nice. There actually already is a function to guess the file type from
the magic bytes. I'll re-use that.

How to copy an iTunes playlist to usb drive

I can't seem to find a way to copy an iTunes playlist to a usb drive. Is there a way that when i can copy songs to the usb drive that the first song selected doesn't find and play the whole album. I find it hard to believe it's this hard or I am getting extremely OLD. Thanks in advance for your responses. Tim

I'm also new to forums so maybe a new thread is not how to post a question. Correct me if this is the case.

underclocking RPi to reduce jitter by matching clock with standard sample rates

Hello all, has anyone experienced underclocking of their Pi so that the clock matches an easily dividable rate for the known frequencies of 44.1 and 48 KHz?
What happens if we run the Pi at *1, 083 801 6‬ GHz? (that's 44.1*48*2^9 Khz)
Is that achievable?
Would it solve the jitter issue of the Pi or am I dreaming and missing completely the point?
(jitter issue explained here and here )

I got used to using Debian (Raspbian, to be exact :-)). It's not as up
to date as Ubuntu, but often easier to maintain for that reason.

PiCorePlayer 5.0.0 and finding the IP

I've used nmap and mdns (avahi) to find pi's before, but I can't seem to do this with picoreplayer. Is there something I'm missing? It doesn't look like the picoreplayer tinycore image is running any mdns? or if it is what is the type I should be searching for?

Please do a full wipe & rescan on your collection. That "notindexed"
statement isn't available in all DBD::SQLite versions. If for whatever
reason the version used on the old system was more recent than on the
newer (the binaries come with LMS, not your OS), then the database
created with the old installation might no longer work on the new one.

Worst case shut down LMS, delete library.db from its Cache folder, then
restart.

New to Spotty and Spotify: Combined search?

No, the searches would need to be run independently, there's no combined
search. It's something which has been in the back of my (and others)
head(s) for a while, but with no outcome...

Spotify search would be all across Spotify's catalog, not limited to
your items.

Squeezebox, Sonos, or other

$

My current setup has a Squeezebox as one of the inputs to a pre-amp, which is connected into an amp. The amp is wired into speakers.

I am moving home, and I think I might want a system with no wires between amp and speakers.

One solution might be to connect my pre-amp to a Sonos Connect and get Sonos speakers. If I did that, would there be any point in using the Squeezebox? In addition to using the Squeezebox to play music from my computer, I use it a lot with the BBC iPlayer plugin. I don't think I would need speakers in more than one room, though having the option might be nice.

Alternatively, does anyone have other thoughts about systems that would do the same kind of connection, that is wiring my pre-amp into a device that would stream to speakers? I am not sure if the Sonos speakers are good enough. I live in the UK, which might affect what units are available.

Native support for classical music tags

Just found this article here:

https://ftalphaville.ft.com/2019/06/...adata-problem/

Quote:

It is no wonder then that classical music buyers still revert to compact discs — where they can guarantee to find their favourite performances, when it comes to consuming the genre.
This refers to streaming services, where finding classical music is a pain. LMS could do better here: I still think it would be worth it to add native support for tags used to browse classical music (WORK, MOVEMENT and maybe two tags to use as one sees fit and more levels in the menu structure to make use of them) to LMS. Admittedly, I don't know how big a task that would be.

Weird problem with one album, tracks are all truncated...

So, last night I paid for and downloaded an album in 44.1kHz 24-bit WAV format. When I play the individual files on either Windows or a Mac they play fine, all the way through with the correct track times. However, when I copy them to my LMS the play times are all truncated to a fraction of the actual track length...

I only have the one album that does this, ANIMA by Thom Yorke, compared to 1000+ other WAV albums on the LMS which play fine.

Might be a transcoding problem. What kind of file is this? Compare the
Audio settings for the different player types.

How to create a playlist via webGui or Squeezer app?

$

I run LMS 7.9.2 and want to create a playlist from the WebGUI (which I have never done before). I also use the app Squeezer (which is fast and slim, and I like this a lot). In the app I have the option to chose playlists to play from and also to save a playlist and give it a name. But the list of playlists stays empty. On the LMS webGUI I don't see that option at all, meaning I can not create a playlist nor play from one. I read about having to add a directory for the playlists manually. Is this really necessary? And if so what permissions should I give? Thanks!
