Raspberry – 5″touchscreen – jivelite - i want IR

i have a setup with:

Raspberry with max2play – 5″touchscreen – jivelite all working fine

As i’m building this to replace my old squeezebox 3 and want to use it remote to control this new build.

I i connebt a infrared reciever to gpio 18 and did the neccesary to get lirc working. When testing by typing IRW i get the following:
