Hi
I hope I donât start a flame war nowâ¦
I am using piCorePlayer as LMS server which works fine (including own access point), but I am thinking: what would I gain, by using Max2Play? I know that one major advantage of Max2Play is, that I can run additional programs (from home automation to print server) on my pi, and I see the big advantage of pCP of being able to just pull the plug without having to worry about corruption of the installation. But is there anything else I would gain?
Rephrased: what are the advantages and disadvantages of these two systems, if I only am talking about LMS player and server usage (incl. streaming services, samba, own access point, â¦)?
Setup:
* pi (I 2 if I am not mistaken),
* external hdd
* LMS database on external hdd
I will start with important points for me:
pCp:
+ running in memory
+ runs very robust (no comparison here)
- customisation more difficult and limited as running in memory
- can be (but usually not) a little tricky to setup
Max2Play:
no idea - what are the plus and minus?
Are there speed differences?
Thanks,
Rainer
