squeezebox3 troubleshooting

My old squeezebox3 recently went off for no obvious reason, while listening to a remote radio stream.

Power brick output is fine.

When power is applied:
- nothing is displayed
- "special IR keys" do nothing
- ethernet link goes up (switch sense 100mbps peer)... so its not "completely dead"
- yet, no network traffic

Opening the thing reveals:
- no charring/burning/damage
- no obvious capacitor leak or damage
- pcb is labeled "slim devices willy 20050630"

Advice or schematic welcome!
