Sorry if this is a bit off topic. I have been using a WD 2TB USB drive containing my music collection, movies, etc with by Raspberry Pi 3 running LMS. It works fine with no problems for a year now. With no evidence at all, I do wonder if these cheap consumer USB drives are built to last and whether SATA drives are of better build quality. Of course I keep backups and yes, I can easily swap the drive if it breaks, but somehow, I value quality more as I get older. Does anyone have any views on this and or experience of using a USB to SATA docking station?
