Another zone | Squeezelite or something else?

Dear all,

need your expertise on the following:

in my living room I use a Pi2 w PicorePlayer and a Syno NAS on which LMS 7.9.0 is installed (and all my music is stored).

Now my thinking is to use my WIN 8.1 Notebook with an external USB Dac connected to an active speaker (nothing fancy) at my patio (Notebook and Pi2 should be "synched" then). I don´t strive for HighEnd sound but it would be nice to listen to the same songs as from the living room system ;-)

Questions from my side are:

i) will "Squeezelite" (as described in http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...8-step-by-step) do the job?
ii) if the answer to i) is "Yes" can I also control this "patio zone" via Orange Squeeze (which I already use for controlling the Pi2)?

In case Squeezelite is not the right choice for my intention what would it be?
